bye bye BPC, you were a true home

When we walked into Bowery Poetry Club on June 16, 2012, we didn't know it would be our last Sticky at the Club. For years, we've been crying wolf that we're about to perform the last Sticky, and instead it happened upon us quietly, without any fanfare, without any warning. We were hoping to come back to the Club in the fall after a well-deserved summer break. Alas.

We'll have to come back to somewhere we've never been.

There are a bunch of posts out today about the closing of Bowery Poetry Club that say it better than we can.

Here are a few:

David Marcus' Spotlight Right
Jody Christopherson and the New York Theatre Review
Deanna Zandt's Extra Helping

Once we manage to unearth our Sticky at Bowery Poetry Club archives, we will post a complete list of all the work we did there, starting for one show in 2003, coming back in residence from 2006 through 2012. Be prepared for a monster list, with pictures. Maybe we'll divide it up by year, but one thing is certain:

Sticky at Bowery Poetry Club produced hundreds of plays, worked with hundreds and hundreds of actors and directors, premiered work by Rachel Klein Ensemble, New York Neo Futurists, Superwolf, Floating Train Productions, and at least a dozen other producing artists and companies, brought musicians to new audiences, and drank alot of whiskey.

We love you Bowery Poetry Club. We miss you already.
